I can only play for about ten minutes before the game stops working completely. I’m lucky if I can save it once it does. Whether it’s the phone clearing of everything but the camera, the time stopping on the clock, being stuck in a constant pottery making loop, it all has made the game unplayable. EA!! Where the 🤬 are you!! Stop creating content and fix the game!!
If you use mods/cc,try moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there.
If you still have issues after doing that, try resetting your sims 4 folder, and testing in a new save game without putting back any of your data in the sims 4 folder and see if the issues remain.

could you give some more details on how it stops working ? Does it crash to the desktop or do any of the thing happen that you described ?
What platform are you playing on ?
The only mod I use is mc command center and have deleted all the extra unnecessary files and it’s been the same.
How do you reset your sims 4 folder?
I’m playing on PC. It doesn’t crash to the desktop, it crashes when I’m saving or kind of a slow crash where it’s just stuck in a loop like I mentioned. Like she’s doing a pottery class and it’s just the same movements over and over again and the clock has stopped adding time (so it’s live, but clock looks as if it’s paused). One time the phone didn’t have any options on it except the home one and all I could do was call the police but she was at home and there was no event happening or anything so I had to close the game, she couldn’t do anything else. I’ve also had several times where every sim and even npc is just stuck standing still doing nothing for hours and hours. Sometimes they eventually move but a lot of the time they don’t and I have to get out of the game. I know they’re not going to move when they’ve got both arms stretched out lengthwise (like a stick person) and they just stand there unmoving totally. It’s so weird.
I also can’t play if I start out connected to the internet. If I am connected then once I load into my initial loading screen it’s darkened and I can’t click on anything. But if I’m disconnected from the internet I don’t have this problem.
Please test your issue on a vanilla game
To verify on a vanilla game, move your mods folder to the desktop and delete the following files from your user folder.
- localthumbcache
- Any lastException Files
- Any LastCrash files.
Test a backup of your save as you will loose all cc on the save and see if the same error occurs, then report back.
As for the darkened screen, do you get any pack ads that don't go away ?
