Cannot create small business (residential)

Hi, I want to have my sim live on the same lot as their cafe and the game won't seem to let me. I've tried starting from both a residential and small business lot, no dice. The game says the lot isn't valid when I try adding the venue from the "register small business" pop up and from moving my sim in manage worlds. After an hour of fussing (including moving my sim and selling the business) I was able to get it titled "small business (residential)" but I was still unable to open the store. 

Can someone help me fix this bug? I'd like to play with the pack I just bought ://

    Hi amaracles​ 

    there is a bug but I'm not sure that's what's going on for you so can you confirm that's how you tried to create a small business

    • Create a residential rental lot
    • Move your Sims in
    • Register a business
    • Place a ticket machine
    • The lot type should then small business residential and open your business

    OR

    • Create a residential rental lot
    • Move your Sims in
    • Go to the map and either buy for example one of the bars or one of the small business lots for your household
    • Travel to that lot
    • Open the business.

    Thanks for the help, I just tried both the methods you listed but to no avail... for right now I'm just going to have the sim live on a different lot but stay only on the business lot.

    Any advice for resolving the bug or is it just a waiting game?

    Are you trying to set up the business in a residential rental ? You can't do that. You need to pick a regular residential (or haunted/tiny)

    Do you get that second pic still when you bought a business ?
