Can't click on burnt furniture

Hi,

This has happened three times now, when something catches on fire my sims can put it out but when I go to click on the object, nothing happens. There is no option to replace the object in live mode. I can go into build/buy and sell the object but this is getting quite annoying. I repaired the game twice (another time because one of my sims is not getting holidays but I know that is a known issue), I have also taken out my mods folder, and no change.
