cant get into new world

I downloaded the new life and death pack yesterday but whenever I try to open the world the screen is just white and i cant leave it. I've tried recovering an old save from before i downloaded the pack, uninstalling and reinstalling it but the same thing is happening. I can use the build items and the CAS items but i just cant go into the world. I've exited and opened my game many times- nothings changed. I've updated everything on my pc just in case and still nothing is working. PLEASE HELP 

should i just try to get a refund?
