have you tried a game repair yet ?
I used the "verify integrity of game files" thing on Steam - is that what you mean? I have also uninstalled and completely reinstalled the game, which I imagine should also repair it?

Hi SheKillsCacti yes, that would do the same thing (the verify)
I tested this in my game and it worked fine so not sure what's going on for you, especially since it works otherwise.
To be sure, you see no empty icon for the pets ? They are simply not part of the household ?

Nope, no empty icons. The game simply treats any family with a pet (cats, dogs, horses) as though it's a family with just the Sims. When I add (either merge or replace) a household that's just pets, no human/occult Sims, into CAS, nothing happens at all - no Sims or pets are added, and the Sim that was already in CAS sticks around, as though I aborted the whole action.
I've had no other issues with CAS, the Library, or the Gallery at all. Just this.
Is it possible some sort of corrupted file stuck around through the repair and reinstall? I manually backed up my saves and tray files before uninstalling, and then deleted everything I could still find on my computer that had anything to do with Sims at all before reinstalling, so the only place something could have been left behind is in either my Saves or Tray folder - and as this issue happens on a new game as well, that doesn't seem plausible. Then again, I don't know much about the behind-the-scenes stuff of computers, so it's entirely possible I've missed something somewhere.- crinrict4 months agoHero+
Have you tried renaming your user folder yet ?
Do you get any LastExceptions in your documents folder ?
