As Trowcia mentionned, it wasn't working for me either until I went to Willow Creek Museum, on the first floor, there is the "On The Hunt Statuette" (the dog statuette). I clicked on "View" and it worked. But my sim took about 30 mins (game-time) to completely finish viewing it, then my event task was completed. 😊

This is still an issue. I've tried this at multiple museums, including the base game (Willow Creek) one. I've tried viewing multiple objects at all the museums, for various lengths of time. Nothing works. I'm pissed off because I really want this week's gift. This is a ridiculous bug, please fix it.

I also have this issue. You can use "View" and let your Sim stand there for a while, it may move you along to the next hint.

Can't complete the challenge because I can't view the display.

Thank you so much! This somewhat worked for me. I placed both items in a museum like you said, but it still only showed "View" with Emit's face. I then went back into Build Mode to delete the items and as soon as I deleted them the quest completed for me haha

I was getting this same issue, tried this and it worked for me to complete the quest requirement, however the quest text implied something was supposed to be in my inventory afterwards, but I couldn't find anything new.

Trowicia's solution works like a charm! Still super annoying, though.
