Custom Content Download help

Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct location but if I can get ANY type of help, i'll be grateful. I play the sims 4 and have recently had trouble downloading custom content. What would download as a file and allow me to extract to Winrar, is now downloading as 'internet explorer' and not allowing me to extract at all. PLEASE help or direct me to a thread that has this information.

Thank you in advance for any advice

  • @khouston10You should be able to just copy it to your Mods folder.  🙂

But in the future, it would probably be best to check with where you got the CC to help you with downloading it.   (While EA allows CC and Mods, they can't support the thousands of CC/Mods that are out there. )  The site you got it from should be able to help you, as they made the item in the first place. 😉  Some sites might have different instructions too, so it would be best to use the instructions that go with that particular CC item.

Keep in mind (If you are new to CC and Mods) that everytime EA updates the game with a patch, many Mods/CC become outdated and need to be updated by the creator, and then you need to make sure you have the updated version, or you might encounter problems in your game.  Outdated CC can even cause problems with seemingly unrelated things in your game.  CC/Mods requires a lot of maintenance to keep it running as it should!

While I would still go to where you got your CC for help, here is an alternative from Carl's Sims 4 Guides that might be of help : https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/tutorials/mods-cc.php

Carl's also has some fantastic guides for the actual game, everything from toddlers, skills, jobs, to the packs that have been released! 🥳

Please update us on if you were able to copy it to your Mods folder or not.

    Happy Simming! 😇
