Desperate - Saves won't load since update

Hi all

I have 11+ years worth of game saves which won't load into the game since an update. They all worked fine before. I followed instructions on other posts and everything I could find online such as : 

  • Delete the cache from The Sims 4 folder
  • Delete the cache from EA App
  • Move all mods out of The Sims 4 Folder
  • Move entire The Sims 4 Folder to desktop and reload game to create new folder. Moved "saves" folder back into new file
  • Repaired game
  • Moved folder to desktop and Uninstalled and Reinstalled game. Moved folder back in

I have done all this several times, in different orders, and saved files still not loading.

Help! Can't find any other solutions online to try.

    According to your saves folder you should see 3 different save files in your game. The rest of the files are backups. You do seem to have all 3.

    Should you have more ?

    I have attached screen shots.

    New game saves from yesterday are in this save folder - so it's defo the right place. 

    Old saves are in this folder too (now I've put them back in). Their modified date has changed because I moved them around. But they were as old as 2014 !

    Could you post a screenshot of the inside of your saves folder as well as the screenshot path from inside the game ?

    When i created a new game after moving The Sims 4 Folder out, and saved that dummy game, it saved in the same "saves" folder the other files were in. I have checked the file location to make sure i'm putting it in the right location. Still no luck. I attached screenshot of location.

    I also disconnected my onedrive at one point to see if that was messing it up. No change.

    I also deleted that exception file in your previous msg, but didn't fix it.

    Thanks for the reply.

    There's no error, so nothing to really paste here for you to see. Just no "load game" or "resume game" option when in the main menu.

    Hi fairfowle​ 

    what do you get ? Any crashing or endless loading ? Is it all the households ?

    Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

    • Delete the ones you have
    • Trigger the error again
    • Check if new ones are created
    • If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

    Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.
