Along with the basic diving boards with the next upgrade how about a extension of the university expansion do a university sports. Playable with the go to work expansion. That would be cool!!!!
@DeNall512while there is no necessity of diving boards being added to the game due to the diving platforms that one of the packs brought, not everyone has this pack (and wouldn't only get it to have something to dive from). Also, while the diving platforms function as diving boards, they don't look like them! 😕 So I think it would be a great idea to add some diving boards to the base game. 🙌
I think part of the problem was that in order to get the height required to do the more fancy dives, either a springboard would be needed (what most pools have), or else a taller platform (what EA/Maxis decided to include). I would guess that the animations would be smoother with a stationary platform, so that is probably why they went this route. 🤔 Still, most people want their Sims' pools to look like their real-life pools, so I hope they include diving boards at some point! 🤞
As for extending any pack there are only 2 ways to do that: 1) make a new pack that adds on content, and 2) include it in a free patch. But there are problems with both ways. 😞 With the first this would be another pack that would require a previous pack to use all of its features, which did not go over so well with the My First Pets Stuff SP. So I doubt they will do this again!The other way is problematic for a couple of reasons. First, if EA/Maxis are giving these upgrades in a free patch, that means people with out the packs the upgrades are associated with might be mad that they don't get as much content in the patch since they don't have these packs. They would probably say things like, "I don't care about university sports, I wanted ______ instead! I can't even use university sports, etc." So, the only way this might be avoided, or at least lessened it to make a big patch that would enhance multiple packs (not just one or 2 of them) so that the chances of the patch including something that they would find useful would be increased! 🙌 However, if a patch was done this way, then the patch might not be as in-depth as some would hope for. ☹️
Still, I like your idea of extending either university sports or even any type of sports in the game! 🏈⚽🏀 But I think this would be better implemented if they just made a Sporting Pack (either a GP or an EP! 🥳). I would love that! 🙌 And while I don't know if they would expand Get to Work for the same reasons I listed above, they might just make those sports be playable jobs , at least a few of them! 😉Ok good info. @DeNall512, I love the Olympics in real life, so of course I would love something like this in the Sims! 🙌 But if they were to do something like this, it probably wouldn't be the next expansion as they are already working on the next Game Pack, and probably are already working on the next Expansion Pack. But it would be great if they did something like this! 🥳
