Does EA account really save all progress?

This is what happened. Microsoft wrecked my computer with their update and I had to wipe everything off my computer.😬 I had to reinstall The Sims 4. I thought because it was an account that it would save my stuff. I worked for years on a world and it's gone.😢 The only worlds left are really old ones, like my first worlds. Is there anyway to restore my worlds?🤔

  • @Lindy086  Unfortunately, your Sims 4 saves are only stored locally, not anywhere on EA/Origin servers.  Specifically, all your user data is in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4: saves are in the saves folder, saved households and builds in Tray, etc.  If you don't have a recent copy of this folder, you're probably out of luck.

There's always a chance that the Sims 4 folder was synced with OneDrive, so you can try looking there.  And you can search your hard drive for Slot_* (with the asterisk), which will turn up any other saves you might have somewhere.  But it sounds like either one is probably a long shot.

I'm sorry this happened, but it is unfortunately a real risk with computers.  In the future, you may want to save the Sims 4 folder, or at least the saves folder, to an external storage device or cloud storage service from time to time, so you don't lose everything if you have another serious system issue.
