Downloading content on EA Online Gallery Sims 4 to Legacy Edition

Hi - I was forced onto the legacy edition of Sims 4 due to an outdated system. I am now wondering if it is possibly to download content from the online gallery on EA to my legacy edition game? I have tried several times to download lots online, and it says that it has downloaded but I don't see it show up anywhere on my computer files - and it doesn't appear in my game. Does anyone know a solution?

In practice, most of the new (post-Legacy Edition patch) content may not work at all in your game.  Too many features have been added, potentially breaking objects that you do have installed, and of course removing objects you don't have.  I'm not sure the files would even load.

You could certainly try, but it's a good idea to make a backup copy of your user data folder first, or use a new folder to test.  That way, if everything goes haywire, you can trash the folder that has the Gallery items in it and go back to your existing content with no harm done.  The Sims 4 Legacy Edition folder in Documents\Electronic Arts can be removed or copied elsewhere and then restored; these folders and their contents are meant to be swapped back and forth.

Okay Thank you, but how do I find the download. I have this same problem could you help me find it on a somewhat old MacBook?

  • @a1uj  The places to download Legacy Edition-compatible content will be the same for Windows and macOS, since the files inside the Sims 3 user folder are the same in both OSs.  As for where to look, I don't have any specific suggestions, and I couldn't link to downloads even if I knew where to find them.  But you can check the big Sims 4 content sites to see what's available; I'm guessing at least some of them have a Legacy Edition section.
