EA needs to support chromebook users.

I have spent well over $400AUD on The Sims 4 and the expansion packs. Recently i had to upgrade my laptop and picked out a Gaming Chromebook within my price range, only to come to find out that ChromeOS isnt supported. I can download the games from steam but that would mean that i'd have to repurchase everything.

  • @orangejuice0987  EA has always made it very clear that Sims 4 runs in Windows and macOS (and on consoles), and that other OSs are not supported.  (What Steam does with compatibility layers is that company's business and entirely optional.)  The studio doesn't need to support Chrome OS, and it's unlikely it will at this late date.

It's the user's responsibility to check their current or prospective computer against their games' minimum requirements.  The fact that you didn't do so is unfortunate but isn't EA's fault or EA's responsibility to fix.
