Error 800 Lot Bug

Was there ever any solution and explanation for this bug?

I didn't play my Brook Bungalow family in ages and when I returned today I was getting the 800 error. I can neither visit the family nor enter when in the build-mode. (not even after repairing the game)

I am not sure if this is related to the saved-game file...I can only say that this file was always around 3000 KB and some weeks ago it suddenly jumped to 59.000 which is weird.

this error does seem related to save game bloating. Was that a jump directly from 3 MB to 59 ? That totally sounds like a bloating issue.

Are you update to the latest patch ? Did you add anything big to the game ?

when I just checked the files again I realized that the smaller ones are from May 2015 and then the large ones are from May 2017  (d'ooohhhh)

So I guess the file has slowly been growing over time and it is causing issues now. (no files available to check this though)

(another issue I discovered is that the Spencer-Kim-Lewis house was vanished when I  entered the lot though it was visible in the preview)

so Willow Ceek has more than just a few problems.

Maybe it's time for a clean restart...sigh

It takes a lot for saves to become that big unless you switch households a lot and have tons of big houses with lots of items.

Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

I played each and every household of the game...and I have some core households I rotate...so yeah, there is a lot of switching....so we pretty much know where the huge save file is coming from.

You can try moving all your households to the library and start fresh but you'll loose all relationships and job advances.

I would backup any houses you care about to the library/gallery as well before they all disappear (that is also a known issue although I haven't seen it around as much lately).

If you want I can also take a look at your game if I can duplicate the issue as well to see if computers make a difference or not.

I've had this issue for several months. Error 800 and disappearance of houses, at the moment in the neighborhood of Oasis Springs.

By the way I play, I like to use all the households and go rotating. Sometimes I play with a family and sometimes with others. All the houses edited by me like the sims, with cc.

Obviously my savegame is very big, which I do not care, because what matters to me is to be able to play my way.

I have not played for some time, because I am not ready to start a new game, not even saving families, knowing that I will lose all relationships and genealogical trees. I also know that by the way I play, I will end up at the same point.

What I would like to know is if at some point it is thought to solve this bug, because if it is not, I will probably leave the game forever.

For anyone encountering this, would you be willing to share some game files?

Specifically everything in \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves\.

I'm having this issue. Everything started when I bought several packs and extensions. (3 o 4 can't remember) Do I need to share those files? Do you make refunds?

I totaly agree with the post above! I have been having this problem since I finally got tempted and bougt the game 2016. And you know what, the error code 800 is also linked to installation of expansion packs not only the size of the played file.

Just like vigaver I too enjoy having many families which I visit within short period of time. However, I do NOT DARE to use neither mods, CC nor even MOO because of all those bugs the game is littered with. This error-code-800-bug is an insult to us as customers!! Especially since the same bug was present in Sims 3 it should have been fixed for the curtesy of paying customers! 

Or, as someone else pointed out, should one change the playstyle to avoid the bug? In that case, my dears, you should inform your customers about the playstyle BEFORE the purchase this glittering EA-Cash-Maschine!

Shame on you, developers and content providers hiding behind fancy logos EA and Maxis!!

PS: to the customer supporter: kindly remove the sentence: "happy simming" because it does sound like heartless mockery

Thank you for replying so fast! I have cleaned out my game (removed the "infected" game, moved sims to library etc., this time I did not re-instsled the game) since last disaster that accured two days ago namely houses disapearing combained with frequent freez/crashes.

Nevertheless, I can see if I can re-cover the files through back-up.

I read another thread from 2014 where other gamers discribe the same problem http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/791146/save-size-suddenly-bloating-post-here. Fortunatly for some the problem got solved.
