Family Recipe Special Touch makes my sim fight

I have the Business and Hobbies expansion pack. Now my Sim keeps fighting NPCs (or NPCs start the fight) before I can notice and stop the action. 
She keeps making enemies and unlocking angry recipe special touches. With glitches!
One example was that she was in her house, minding her own business. The gardener came over to water her garden. She has never once spoken to the gardener. He finished and started to leave her property. Then suddenly they got into a brawl. Except she was inside, and he was yards away, halfway down the driveway. The game acted like they were right in front of each other. They got into a horrible fight and now despise each other. 
The same thing happened when she went to the flea market. As soon as she showed up, one of the vendors attacked her and started a brawl. They've never even met. I couldn't stop the action. And again, they were yards away from each other, so the fight looked weird. Is there any way to turn off family recipes?
