Feedback: The Sims 4 is Lacking Details in Gameplay

I just found the video below (observe, it's not my video, I don't own it in any way), and I realised why The Sims 4 feels kind of empty even though we have a lot of stuff in it. I love the game, but the things I love the most are the build mode, CAS and the graphics (the sims LOOK more alive than ever). So, what's missing for the gameplay?

I think we're missing details. All those things as jumping on the sofa, playing with the children in more than one way, the sims breaking the fourth wall, and a lot of the other things seen in the video below.

In TS4 the sims have personality traits, but even so it feels like they don't have a personality. Goofballs and childish sims can't do that many playful things, they just have the playful moodlet more often. When we got the small robot toy in TS4 Discover University I said out loud (even though I was alone) "Frickin' FINALLY we got a toy that adults can play with!" (well, "Det var förbannemig VERKLIGEN PÅ TIDEN att vi fått en leksak vuxna kan leka med!"). The sims in TS4 can't play with toys, not even goofballs and childish sims can (as far as I know) and they can't even play with toys together with children. They can just look at the children playing with toys.

It would also be fantastic if sims could actually influence other sims so that they also get a trait, for example if a vegetarian sim talks a lot about vegetarianism to another sim that sim could get the vegetarian trait too, or if a paranoid sim talks a lot about conspiracy theories with another sim that sim can get the paranoid trait too. And some traits can have two possible effects, for example if an uncommittal sim talks a lot about being uncommittal with a friend that friend may become uncommittal, but if they talk a lot about being uncommittal with someone they dislike that sim may get the trait jealous. It would also be awesome if you could have your sim asking another sim why they're for example vegetarians, and your sim could get the trait that way.

So, here's a list of things from the video below, i.e. a list of things that are in TS2 but not in TS3 and/or TS4:
1. Sims use kitchen counters when preparing food.
2. Couples snuggle when sleeping together and if one of them wake up they will embrace the other one for a little while before getting up.
3. A wall-mounted TV can fall off the wall and crash into pieces.
4. Toddlers can escape from their crib. (My note: There aren't cribs for toddlers in TS4.)
5. Teens grow acne and can get rid of it with cream (My note: In TS4 you can choose if your teen should have acne or not, but you have to go into CAS.)
6. Every time a slice of pizza is taken out of the pizza box there will be one slice less of the pizza in the box, and when a sim holds a slice of pizza in their hand the slice of pizza will flop.
7. The sims' talking animations will match what's shown in the speech bubble, for example they may act scared when the speech bubble contains a ghost.
8. A tired sim may fall asleep while eating, having their head fall into the food.
9. Playful children and teens slide down spiral stairs (My note: There, still, aren't any spiral stairs in TS4.)
10. Playful children and teens can play with the fridge door.
11. Car doors can be open manually, and the sims can talk, kiss, woohoo and listen to the stereo in cars, and there's a proper animation of the car exiting the driveway. (My note: There aren't any cars in TS4.)
12. Cheap cars' doors sometimes fail to close, so that the sim have to close it twice, and the cheaps cars also move in a jerky way.
13. Sims can step over small objects.
14. If a sim drinks a lot of coffee they will start shaking for a while, even while doing other activities.
15. Sims with low needs can have nightmares and toss and turn in their sleep.
16. The newspapers can be used for filling crosswords and making paper planes with.
17. If children see their parents arguing they will run out the room crying or getting angry.
18. Adults can teach toddlers songs and rhymes, which the toddlers then can sing by themselves.
19. When a parent comes home their children can come greet them and give them hugs and kisses.
20. Sims with a lazy personality stand and walk with a slouched position. (My note: In TS4 there's a slouched walking style that can be chosen.)
21. Flat screen floor TVs have to be moved away from the wall to be fixed, and it will stay in that position until it's pushed back manually.
22. Children dance in a more childish way.
23. Sims can lie down on their side on the sofa.
24. If you come close to an idling sim they can break the fourth wall and look directly at you.
25. Neat sims can clean the windows with a sponge.
26. Toddlers can steal bottles from each other.
27. Teens can run away from home, and if it's reported to the police the teen will come home escorted in a police car and the parents will beg for forgiveness for not having a good relationship with the teen. (My note: It's so odd that the police in TS4 only are working when you play the criminal career, otherwise it's like they don't even exist.)
28. When playing chess the pieces are actually moved by the sims and it will be a proper game of chess.
29. If someone is using the shower and someone else is flushing the toilet the sim in the shower freak out because the water turns hot/cold, and they'll stop showering and nag on the person who flushed the toilet.
30. Childern have a report card with their grade when coming back from school. If they have a bad grade they'll get angry and crumple up their report card, if they have a descent grade they will just shrug, and if they have a good grade they'll run to their parents to show it off.
31. If they write in a diary and a sim they don't trust walks in they'll cover up their diary to their chest until the other sim leaves the room.
32. If a sim is starving they can eat directly from the fridge, for example drinking directly from the milk carton.
33. If something is bought from buy mode the sims will react to the new objects. If it's an expensive object they'll get excited and if it's something cheap they'll act in disgust.
34. Cushions and sofa seats will move when a sim is sitting, lying or jumping on them.
35. When they're going to play a computer game they have to wait for it to boot up before starting to play.
36. Toddlers can eat from pet bowls and sleep on pet beds.
37. Sims can steal newspapers and garden gnomes, and your played sim can go steal them back.
38. Children can rub their feet against a carpet and then give another sim an electric shock.
39. Playful sims can skip instead of walking.
40. Sims can run up and down stairs.
41. When a baby's or toddler's diaper is changed it will be thrown on the floor if a baby changer station isn't used. Babies can also be bathed in a sink. (My note: It would be really handy being able to bathe toddlers and small dogs in sinks in TS4.)
42. There are a lot of physical games sims can play with each other, such as rock, paper, scissors, throwing a ball, pillow fights, tag, kicky ball, red hands, punching, tickling, cops and robbers, clapping games, swing around, and Marco Polo.
43. When a child dance with an adult the child will put their feet on top of the adult's feet.
44. Playful sims can play with the bathtub.
45. Serious sims react with excitement when being ordered to do serious activities, neat sims will react with excitement when directed to clean, outgoing sims will react with excitement when directed to make the first move, and so on.
46. Shy sims react with discomfort when directed to making the first move, serious sims will react with annoyance when directed to do playful stuff, and so on.
47. Grouchy sims do an evil smirk if directed to irritate someone.
48. Children can show off gymnastic tricks, such as somersault, cartwheel and headstand.
49. The hair and some hats move when the sim moves.
50. Sims can set an alarm for work. If they're in a bad mood they'll smash the alarm clock instead of turning it off normally.

More of these kinds of things in TS4 would make the game so much better and make it feel more alive.

Other suggestions from me:
- Favourites (favourite colour, dish, instrument etc)
- Adults being able to play with toys (as I mentioned earlier)
- Sims being able to get and give traits from/to other sims (as I mentioned earlier)
- Sims being able to water potted plants
- More interesting idling interactions, such as looking out the window, inspecting their nails and so on
- More romantic and flirty actions and interactions (that would need a whole separate post, which I may make at some point)

So, since TS is 20 years old and TS4 is 5 years old it would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate it by adding some details like these, instead of adding stuff, stuff, stuff. I mean, it's nice to get new stuff for free once in a while, but I feel like we don't need free stuff, the money put into making free stuff should instead be used to make the gameplay better.

Dear SimGurus, Maxis, and EA, please could you look into the possibility to add more small details in the gameplay rather than adding free stuff?
