The furniture doesn't technially disappear, once they are built and set as 'Residential Rental' the items are hidden unless you travel to the lot. When you are at the active lot the furniture is there.

@noelgaem Could you test if this happens on a new save that never had mods/cc in (to check if it's save game related) ? Did you delete the locathumbcache file after removing your mods ?

The savegame this happens in has never had mods present (created fresh without mods installed), and the localthumbcache file has been deleted. I also ran repairs to the game as I hadn't tried that before, but the problem persists.
