Game Save Different Than The Gameplay

Dear Community,

I have just made the latest update of the game and as I was playing with my family (2 adult sisters and 3 horses) I didn't save midway. One of the sisters had a baby and the other one passed away but the game suddenly bugged when the REPOSSESSION MAN had to come but never showed up. I was unable to save my game and in order not to lose my progress, I created an event in a different venue and had my sim move there so I managed to save my game and then I exit and restarted the game.

When I open the load game menu, it's shows the picture of the latest household with the baby, his mother and the 3 horses but when I load it, I find and older save of the game as If I lost all the progress.

You'll find attached the picture of the family in the load screen (where you can see one adult and a baby) and the family that shows up when i click on play (the dead sister is still alive and the baby not yet conceived)

I tried recovering later saves but i still have the same problem.

I want to know if there is a way to recover my game progress or I've lost everything completely.

PS. I don't use mods,

@maniollia I would backup the save and then just continue playing in your current save. Hopefully it was just a temp glitch with saving.

For the future I would save the game every hour or so, keep regular backups and use save as from time to time.

@maniollia Sounds like the game only have saved when the error happened.

Did you loose all the progress from that play session or more ?

Hello Crinrict,
I lost all the progress from that play session even though I went to the event I created and saved my game.
The version I have access to is way before the Repo Man error happened.
Is there any hope to recover my game progress 😞 ?

@maniollia If you never saved during the play session and something went wrong with saving later on, I doubt there's any way to recover that lost part.

Question is if there's more wrong with the save or if it's just a matter of the portrait. Did anything else change ?

I didn't notice any other changes in the game.
I'll have to start a new game to see if everything is in order.
It's so sad to give up on my game progress this way 💔 but the is nothing I can do
