Firstly, I have no mods, and I haven't used cheats. I haven't deleted any university lots and I've completed 12 classes of uni, so I qualify to graduate.
The notification came up that Graduation would be at 10:58AM so I traveled to campus (UBrite) but there was no interaction to graduate? I've missed the ceremony, now I can't graduate and I have no certificates or any merits or anything!!! SO ANGRY
When you say you traveled to the ceremony, did you do the traveling yourself by using the phone or did you use the popup where the game sends you to graduation automatically? If you went via the game sending you then you should have landed right outside the Forxbury or UBrite arena. Once you are there, you don't have to do anything, it's all automatic. A bunch of NPC graduates will arrive and talk a bunch, then after about an hour, the sims go inside on their own and you hear the graduation. When it's over, your sim and the NPCs appear, throw their hats and that's it. You should have a graduation photo in your sim's inventory at that point. You don't get the diploma until 6 PM that evening (that happens whether you go to the graduation ceremony or not, the ceremony is optional).
Sometimes, if you have more than one sim graduating, some of them won't go inside no matter what you do and so don't get the graduation pic. I always save right after I get to the arena so if I have one that doesn't get the photo, I reload and try again. Usually that works. So, in your case, if you have a another save from before the graduation ceremony, you can try again. If you don't have one, then you can try recovering an earlier save from your current one so you can try again.

Yes, it's scripted to work at a certain pace and there's no way to rush it. The whole thing should happen automatically if you're in the right place.
