When you are at level 5 and are in the Green Technician branch of the Civil designer career, you can change the vertical planter to grow meat. If you neglect the meat wall for a while, such as not watering it, it will dry up and you can harvest faux jerky.
I know that, but even without touching it the faux jerky NEVER GROW.
In my current save I've put the meat wall in a locked room for almost half a sim year to be sure no one touch or water it, and still nothing.
For years I've tried eco gameplays and no matter how long I don't touch the meat wall, I've never got any faux jerky.
