Sim Freezing to Death while wearing Warm clothes

When my ranchhand froze to death, I didn't think anything of it, I just figured she wasn't wearing warm clothes. BUT then my sim started freezing to death even tho she was also wearing her warm clothing. I even tried changing her outfits and bringing her inside and she still had the moodlet. What is happening here?

side note/question: my ranchhand did die and it won't let me dismiss her or hire a new one. help?

  • I believe the outfits are “warm weather” (ie cool outfit for when the weather is warm) and “cold weather” (ie warm outfit for when the weather is cold) - so just to check the obvious first, when you say that they’re wearing “warm” clothing do you mean the cold weather outfit?

Same thing happened to my sims. I was playing with a household at a park and a sim from another household froze to death and then my current sims began to freeze to death even though they had their cold weather outfits. I had to bring them inside for it to go away. Has this happened to you again?

Has anyone found a fix for this? I am having the same issue, xbox player so no mods or CC to be causing it. I have gone back into CAS and double and triple checked that my sim is wearing his warm workout clothing (all of which does in fact show up in the winter catergory in CAS) and yet he still freezes to death every time I send him outside to do anything. He has the outdoorsy and adrenaline seeker lifestyles so he is basically dying of boredom inside, but he literally cannot step outside without freezing to death because he insists on wearing workout clothes to jog or rock climb and his warm outfit is apparently not warm despite being all being from the winter catergory.

OLDACCTDONTUSE It doesn’t matter what categories the clothes are tagged as, it matters what the outfit category is. The sim needs to be wearing one of their cold weather outfits. Even if you cleared tags and set that outfit as a bathing suit, if it’s a cold weather outfit it will keep them warm. If it’s not a cold weather outfit - if, for example, it’s an athletic outfit - then even if you put them in a snowsuit it won’t keep them warm.
