Household Transferring Problem

So recently the Sims 4 was given a new update, as I can see, it mostly seems like a preparation for Discover University. The update was obviously given to base game players, like me, for free. But usually I like to move out sims from my households (Mostly the eldest child in a family,) when they become young adults, and preferably continue the legacy as them. But as I usually do, I go to manage world, create a new household, transfer them in, then move them into a starter home. But because of this update, I need to transfer money so that they can move into an actual lot. That would be fine if my family had a lot of money or something, but I definitely won't afford to move out other extra children with enough money to get a starter. I think it's a really cool feature, but is there any way I can just move out the sim as if I made a new sim and moved them in with the average 20k funds? or am I just missing something?

- Sorry if this doesn't really count as a Technical Issue

  • @IDK817  This option will be helpful especially if a Sim is leaving to live on campus.
I have been exploring how this works for general gameplay.
    * Moving out Sims using the split and move option is a good way to control household funds.
    * The game switches control to the Sim moving out.
    * It may be helpful to merge the Sim moving out with another household. That would require fewer funds to send with them.
    * To get around the fund issue (with the split and move option) you could use manage household which I see you already mentioned.
    * If you don't mind cheats or taking a bit of a longer route you could do what I plan to do.
= Split and move to an empty lot with just enough to purchase the lot.
= Use the money cheat to give them funds.
** Exact funds can be granted using the cheat TestingCheats On then put in the word Money followed by a dollar amount.
For 20,000 the cheat wound be
TestingCheats on (hit enter) Money 20000 (hit enter again)
I frequently use this to reduce funds to Zero when playing challenges.

  • @IDK817  I've moved your post to the general discussion section, since this is probably a better place for the discussion.

Thank you! I was hoping that there was going to be something where I didn't have to cheat but that seems pretty reasonable, to me at least.

I do understand about cheats. I prefer to use the game mechanics or exploits to reach my goals.

There are a few cheats I don't mind using if necessary. Money cheats except the one that takes away money are usually avoided.
Of course if there are things of value that go in personal inventory you could always use them as a parting gift to the Sim moving out.
They could then sell those or use them on the new lot.  Just a thought for future generations.
