How to maintain "high" relationships with co-workers? [PS4]

Hi there.

I'm trying to get promoted easily.

One of the criteria is to maintain "high" or "good" relationships with co-workers.

When I go to relationships, I don't see any new people in there.

How do I maintain relationships with sims that don't exist?

Is there a setting?

Someone help. Thanks!

You see it on the Sims icons when they are at Work, School or somewhere else than where the currently controlled Sim is.

When at work choose to socialize with coworkers by clicking the lightning icon.
