@mightyspritesims and @Spyderbaby I don't think you can turn it off on a per-save basis, but try taking the EA App offline before launching the game. Alternately, I saw a comment that disabling Online Social Features (Options > Game Options > Other) blocks the quest, so you could toggle this setting when you don't want to deal with it.

I wish it was that easy. I just did an update to my Sims game and was met with this behemoth... Got me hopeful.
Turned off social, closed out the EA app, turned off the tutorials as well.
NOPE, still there. Extra aggravating that you cannot set it up like you would a calendar--to get rid of the game's dumb events and have your own.
I question why did I ever start playing this. Should have listened to my sister, and bought TS3 on steam.

@TheChiefGnome Please try the suggestion here:

A new save may not be necessary.

@puzzlezaddict this broke my game, is there a way to redownload that folder? My sim can't have her baby and no one can age up

@BluJae4 Deleting accountDataDB, if that's all you did, does not break anything. This file doesn't affect gameplay; it simply stores data that the Reaper event function later applies to your account. And the file will be recreated the next time you launch Sims 4 if Online Social Features is enabled.
Point is, the problem in your game lies elsewhere.
