How to turn off time-limited events
I want to do the Reaper's Rewards quest in one save but I don't want it popping up in every household in every save. How do I turn it off?

Is it possible to opt out of the Cozy Celebrations event? Not really interested, and don't see any options to hide or remove it. Thanks!

Try the following
- Turn off online social features access in your game options
- Close the game
- Move accountDataDB.package to the desktop
- Start the game.
- You will loose access to the gallery as well.
Thank you Crin! Must echo the concerns of most of the posters in the thread as well. These events should be 100% optional.
- This doesn’t work for us on consoles. We are forced to have the silly challenge icon on our screens whether we want it or not.
I wish they would just fix the basic bugs (like Sims showering in their underwear) and pause these mandated challenges- @nickinbigd For console it would probably work if you do it before the game knows about the event. It's too late for this one but for the next one, turn off the option as soon as you hear about it.

- @crinrict Although I can't play the game right now due to now 4 eye bug issues, I would want to disable these events. The popup and the icon is annoying. It is taking too much space on the screen and is distracting. I'm not sure if the solution you provided works or not, but another thing is I use the gallery. So, even if your solution worked, I would not be able to use the gallery. We need an official option to hide these events and their icons etc. It's bad enough we have to deal with that annoying shopping cart icon, but at least there is a mod to get rid of that. These events shouldn't be forced on us, especially since every single one of them so far has caused issues and bugs. Also, as a storyteller, I am not interested in doing the events either. An option to hide and opt out would be great.
Adding my vote and message to this - there NEEDS to be a way to disable these events that take up space and ruin the experience.
Adding that I just came back to the game, to full screen ads and now Cozy Celebrations being stuck on the side of the screen. I am now uninstalling this piece of trash that is only a glorified shop.
so this is not a solution, and the fact that you think it is proves how brainwashed by ea you are and I feel bad for you. we shouldn't have to risk corrupting the game by removing files and crap, AND lose access to the gallery just because ea wants to tell the player how they should play the game. I paid my money for this game, I have the right to play it as I want, not have to follow some bs rules just because the developers are getting bored sitting on their butts all day not fixing real problems.
I also would like to disable these. I have no interest in turning Sims into a fetch quest game. If I wanted to do these I would play ESO or some other MMO type game.
