I can't pick a career. Not using mods. Game is freshly installed.
I got this game with some expansions, including the Island one. When I picked a world, I picked the island. However, I can't get a career. It says I'm off the grid, first of all, so the internet doesn't work from the phone. So I go to the bottom right to get a job instead, but nothing shows up when I click the button to look for a job. I don't really know what to do. I have played all the Sims games so I get the basic functions but the game isn't offering much direction as to why I can't pick a career or job. One of my Sims that I made has some options to look for gigs, but nothing comes up when I do that either. I thought I could be a conservationist or something like that if I moved to the islands. Honestly not sure how to proceed with the game without being able to get jobs.
@Friendzie If you don't want to play this lot/household as 'off the grid' you can enter the lot in build mode from the 'world/town-map view', and change the lot traits so they do not include 'off the grid' as a lot trait, then save and return to playing the household as usual. If you want to play the 'off the grid' lot trait please try traveling with your sim who is looking for job until they are on a community lot where their phone can work, then look for a job there - or use the computer at the library.
