The ps4 doesn't allow me to move my curser over to the grayed out area. It only allows me to highlight it and click x to confirm, but in this situation I can't confirm cause it's not available. It only highlights the one you want to buy in green. If there's another way please let me know.

I will test on another male sims and get back with you all.

@Shaynasaur59 Do you happen to have a mouse that you can plug in to your console and try to click the greyed out icon to see if something else pops up when directly hovering over the icon with a mouse?
