My Sim is sick and I purchased medicine off the computer but nothing happened after she drank it. No cure, no effect. I bought a second medicine and same thing. I tried drinking green tea and orange juice and having her rest to see if that would help but none of those gave the little home remedy plus moodlet. Bizarre because I cured her sick husband with medicine earlier in the day but it did not work on her. I checked it with mods and without and the result was the same.

@AyaFire, I don't know if this is the same as what is happening in your game, but I've noticed that sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times taking the medicine for a Sim to be fully cured. 🤨 I think it is kind of like having to take multiple doses of medicine in real life. When this happens in my game, my Sim will not have the uncomfortable mood anymore for several hours, but then a while later they will feel the affects of the illness again. I have never seen an illness require more than 3 doses.🙂However, there is a chance that there is something else going on in your game, so I have a few questions:1) Have you notice this happening in any other households , both in the same save or in a different save game?🤔2) Do you play with any Mods or CC? 🤔

@PugLove888 I haven't tested them in a while, but there's also the "Snake Oil" serum from Get to Work's scientist career. I think that works similar to the medicine and it's kinda free. It only takes a daisy to create, but you have to have gone through the scientist track first.What I tend to do is once I have a "tested" serum, I keep one of each at home and just clone it with the clone machine whenever I need one.

@Psychotps, yes the 3rd option is healthy green tea.☕🙂 ( I don't think the other teas do anything for illnesses.)While you're at it, you can also test medicine.😇 We have a total of 4 ways to combat illness in the game: naps/sleeping, orange juice, green tea, and medicine. 🙂@hestiah23, I agree! I always thought this was intentional, just like in real life it usually either takes multiple doses , or it takes a combination of things to be fully cured. Rest and fluids are often recommended for combatting many illnesses in real life, even if you are taking medicine! Tea is good for throat and sinus trouble, orange juice is good for combatting colds and keeping hydrated, and rest is good for everything! 😪😃

@PugLove888 Looks like OJ gives your sim the "Combatting Cold" buff for one hour. Nap gives it for three. Haven't tried it with anything else.

@Psychotps, thanks for bringing up the Snake Oil!🤨 I totally forgot about that, since I'm I haven't played a scientist whose gotten sick or had their household get sick in a while! 🤭😃 If you find out the strength of Snake Oil versus the other 4 methods to combat illness, and also any buffs the snake oil might give, please tell us! 😇

@PugLove888 Actually what I usually do is have the sim Nap, that works a lot of the time and its free. Doesn't always work though. If it doesn't work, I try a second time. If the second time doesn't work, I buy the medicine. That's always worked for me.

@Psychotps, yes I have them nap sometimes, but only if they are on the tired side and they have time for a nap. Most of the time they don't' have time for a nap, so I will have them either drink orange juice or green tea, or take medicine. The medicine is the fastest! :eahigh_file:
I find that any of these 4 methods don't always work the first or even the second time, to it doesn't really matter which one you choose, at least in terms of curing the illness. @AyaFire stated that all 4 methods were tried, including "rest" which would be naps! 😉

@PugLove888 Never tried the others. Don't usually use tea. If I have the tea maker, sims tend to use it all day long. Same with the coffee maker, so I tend to not have them.

@Psychotps, Like you I don't have too many tea makers in my game for the same reason -- they use it all the time , leave the mugs all over the house, and then have to pee all day long! 😞 So, I didn't even know about the green tea curing illness in the game until I was watching a YouTuber's videos on the 100 Baby Challenge. She had them use the green tea all the time. (The YouTuber was British, so I can see why she preferred the tea over the orange juice. 😉 ) At least with orange juice they usually only get it when you direct them to drink it, and it doesn't cost anything, so that is what I usually have my poorer Sims do to fight illness. But for most others, I just buy the medicine since they always seem to get ill when I don't have time to give them a nap. 😉

Well, I knew about the tea but having the tea maker was too much of a hassle, didn't know about OJ though. I'll have to try that.

Of course, more than likely the OJ will cost a little $. What I'll likely do is use the Nap first. If they're still sick after that, use the OJ. If THAT doesn't work, the medicine. OJ is likely cheaper than medication.

@Psychotps, I never noticed if OJ cost any money for my Sims or not. 🤔 If it does it is just a few Simoleons, so I ignore it. It is a lot cheaper than the medicine. To tell you the truth, since all my illnesses are cured with (at the most) the 3rd try to cure them, save the money and just have them drink OJ for the 3rd try, or else take another nap! (Now if for some reason you ever get an illness that isn't cured in 3 tries, I would then try the medicine! But I doubt that will ever happen! 😉
