Imaginary Friend turned real

my sims imaginary friend showed up at my door, as a sim teen, sims days after the pop up to have disappear forever.

child sim made imaginary friend, doll disappeared (a different, known bug) sometime during the sims childhood. i did not continue a relationship with it after it initially disappeared. when sim aged up to teen i got the notification to "make go away forever" which i selected as i did not want further interaction especially because the doll had disappeared already. a few sims days after this notification a bald sim showed up at my door. i hovered over and it had my imaginary friends name. when i changed the sim selection to a different sim in the household the imaginary friend disappeared for their view, like an imaginary friend does. it was tagged as a "homeless" sim. the imaginary friend was still in the relationship panel of the original sim who had the connection, so i knew it wasnt just a random sim with the same name.

this was my first time playing with imaginary friends so i am unsure if it will happen again or happens every time i have one in my household.

    Hi _demonsims​ 

    Please follow these steps to test  your game on vanilla game with no mods/cc

    • If you can, go back to a backup from before you  made the IF go away forever. Do make sure to keep a copy of that though
    • Move your mods folder to the desktop
    • Delete the following files from your user folder.
    •   - localthumbcache
    •   - Any lastException Files
    •   - Any LastCrash files.
    • Test your save (you will loose all cc on the save but since you created a backup you can go back to that afterwards) and see if the same error occurs, then report back.
    •  

    If you don't have a backup, please test with a new IF to see if it happens again.
