Invited Sims stuck on sidewalk and won't enter house

Whenever I invite Sims over or host an event, the guests just stand at the edge of the lot by the walkway. They never come to the door or enter the house, eventually leaving because their needs get too low.

Steps to reproduce:

Invite any Sim to the current lot.

Wait for them to arrive.

Observe them idling at the sidewalk or spawn point indefinitely.

Request: Is there an official fix or a workaround for this? It makes hosting social events impossible.

Additional Information:

I have checked for front door routing issues and there are no obstructions. This has been a known issue for a long time and I am looking for an update on whether a fix is currently being investigated or if there is a permanent solution available.
