someone left their laptop on the picnic table in my sim's neighbourhood.I want to summon the owner to the lot so they may get it back, but I don't know who does the laptop belong to. What do I do?
You could try Salvage Into Parts if your Handiness skill is high enough. That would certainly get rid of the laptop if you can do it but I'm not sure if it works on computers that you don't own.
There is no way that I know of to find out who owns an item like that unless you see the sim using it before they left. So, if it is on an editable lot, the only thing you can do is go to build and delete it. Things left out in the world, not on a lot, can be deleted with a cheat if you have a mod that enables it. Although, most of the time, those items will disappear on their own. You just have to leave the zone for a few in game days or longer. When you return, whatever it is should be gone.
