Issues feeding

Since I have the sims for rent, I have problems with my animal food.

My cat keeps saying he is hungry, even thought its an large automatic filled bowl filled up.

Also it won't work to let my chicken eat treats. 

The treats don't show up outsider where I gave them, but in a part of the home that is not shared.

I also tried te feed them there, but even then they won't eat them. 

Same think I tried for the feeding bowls for my cat, to place them in different rooms. Our own, our share rooms, outside. But nothing works. 

Only time the cat will eat is when I call hem to eat, but for the chicken that won't work either.
