@puzzlezaddict Thank you so much for the detailed reply! It looks like a lot of effort went into so i’m very grateful for that. The Asus Zephyrus G14 seems like the best option if I’m able to wait for it to go on sale. However it looks like the same graphics as the Dell inspiron 15 7000 so is the price difference just because of the brand? And I also heard that lighter laptops heat up faster so will running the Sims 4 on the Inspiron over heat it too much? Thank you so much for your time and I apologize if i’m asking to many questions
@BlackKitKat_0707 You're not the first person to ask for a lightweight laptop that can also run Sims 4 on ultra settings. The market occasionally produces a nice new surprise, for example the Zephyrus showed up around a year ago, and before that there wasn't anything comparable in that price range. So I've had a lot of practice in looking for this kind of laptop.
The Zephyrus is a true gaming laptop, while the Inspiron is not. For practical purposes, this means the Zephyrus generally gets a few percentage points more in performance in gaming, for various reasons. Part of this is software-based, from BIOS settings to support programs; some of the settings are reachable, but not all. Another major part is heat: the Zephyrus has a cooling system designed to handle the strain of gaming, and the Inspiron's cooling isn't nearly as good. That doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to play Sims 4, just that the laptop might start to overheat and throttle performance. Or it might be fine—the reports I've seen mention more demanding games than Sims 4.
The price difference is just a reflection of the above, that the Asus is a true gaming laptop and performs as such. Dell laptops are usually more expensive than others with the same hardware; a "regular" Asus gaming laptop with the same components might be $800. But it's difficult to make a small lightweight gaming machine, so the Zephyrus gets closer to the premium price range.
As far as sales go, you might get lucky, but I wouldn't count on the price dropping much below what you see, again unless you're willing to buy from a third-party seller somewhere.
You're not asking too many questions at all; that's what this site is for.
