lost gameplay

hey, I've recently purchased 3 new add ons for my game in the current sale once I downloaded the new packs I played for around an hour and my game worked perfectly fine, now two days later I've gone back to play and unfortunately all my saved family have disappeared except for 3 familys (the ones which I haven't touched since I made them) does anyone know what could of happened and if there's away I can restore my family's ?  I've tried removing all my mods and that doesn't work and I've checked in 'other households' and they aren't there either. it would be very helpful for some answers since my legacy family has disappeared which I've worked on for 5 years!
