Love Stuck - dates/dating app issues

i've just purchased Love Struck and now i'm playing it the dates dont work, everyone in the house goes along to them and then they end without registering any of the interactions. 

And when i try and use the dating app it wont load any matches it just spins saying "looking for matches..." (the settings are enabled correctly in the settings). 

I dont have any mods - please help
