Main household can't interact romantically :(

I came to this forum some months ago with an issue that I hoped would be resolved with future patches, only to find out that the issue is still going on.

For reference, I play TS4 on an Acer Nitro 5 laptop, and my drivers are up to date. I've already deleted all my caches with and without my mods in-game, deleted my last exception files, and repaired my game multiple times. I never had this issue before Lovestruck came out.
The adults of my main household (5 generations into my first legacy save ever 😔) can't do anything romantic beyond flirting and kissing, and I truly mean nothing. Create a date? Nope. Woohoo? Nope. Do any sort of interactions to extend a date? Good luck.
So imagine my surprise when, just now, after aaaaall of my efforts, to no avail-- after scouring forums to find an answer-- I attempted the same things in a different household with a couple at all the same relationship levels as my main household, starting with a woohoo... and they actually run off to their bed.

So umm... I'm at a loss at this point. Really sick and tired of this bug that has been bothering me for months, even more sick and tired of the "science baby" interactions just adding a baby to the household and giving your sim none of the experience of actually being pregnant. At this point I might just backup my saves so I can uninstall and reinstall my game, but I can't even guarantee that that will fix it.

Please help. Thanks in advance to literally anyone that can help me with this.

  • I have the same issue - either they can’t interact romantically or their romantic relationship decreases very quickly, have found moving them out or switching households sometimes works

  • To anyone that finds this post, here's a solution for Windows/PC I found on this forum and on a couple Reddit threads:

    1. To preface, the easiest way to make this happen requires the MC Command Center mod, so go download that first, then extract the files from that .zip file, into your Mods folder! So far, so good.
    2. Load up your TS4 save, and go to the household that this bug is occurring in.
    3. Shift+click on one of the sims you're having trouble with, and click the MC Command Center button.
    4. Scroll aaaaall the way down to the bottom, click "Relationships", and then click "Delete Relationship". This will trigger a pop-up with a list of every sim that this chosen sim knows. Click the sim's romantic partner, then confirm this choice.
    5. Use the cheat bar (ctrl+shift+C) to enable cheats (testingcheats true) and allow for edits to your sim in CAS (cas.fulleditmode).
(Ignore the next two steps and go straight to Step 8 if the other sim in the relationship is not part of the household!)
    6. Shift+click on your sim again, and click "Modify in CAS". (Would you believe me if I said this opens CAS?)
    7. Go into the Relationship's drop-down in your sim's details, and fix the relationship accordingly! Confirm your changes!
    8. Open up the cheat bar one more time, and enable cheats again for good measure. Enter these two cheats into the cheat bar, one after the other:
modifyrelationship [FirstName LastName] [TargetFirstName TargetLastName] 100 LTR_Friendship_Main
modifyrelationship [FirstName LastName] [TargetFirstName TargetLastName] 100 LTR_Romance_Main
    9. The only thing I had to do after this was have them introduce themselves to each other and kiss for the first time before I got the option to make them woohoo. With the way this bug has been bugging me for the last few months, I almost cried when I saw them walk off to the bed lol. All of the romantic interactions went back to normal, too :-)

I saw that a lot of other PC users are having the same issue as me, so I hope this helps!
