Major bugs after update

I downloaded the new sims 4 update today at around 1 PM. After my download i started the app, but the main log in screen didn't show up. When the main menu finally loaded, I also noticed that the household that I previously played with wasn't on the screen. I went into CAS mode, to make a new household and the background was entirely black. I could rotate the sim, but i couldn't see it or click on it. All the other buttons were visible and usable. I tried accessing CAS from playing with an already existing household but it still didn't work. Also, none of the sims characters were visible in the preview of the household, and when I tried starting live mode, the loading screen froze and wouldn't budge. Since there have been many problems I have been trying to fix, I haven't even opened Build mode to see if there were any problems there.

I tried fixing the problem, by restarting the game, deleting all my custom content, I also checked the files, if there was something suspicious. After many attempts of trying to restart the game, and repairing in the EA app, I finally decided to uninstall and reinstall the Sims 4. When the base game finished reinstalling I opened it and the problems didn't go away. I have been waiting for the reinstallation to finish for 30 minutes now, and there are around 23 add-ons still queueing.

    Dear crinrict

Thank you for the tip, but it didn't work. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

  • Hi Viszkacsa

    Do you have any LastException/LastUIException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

    - Delete the ones you have
    - Trigger the error again
    - Check if new ones are created
    - If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.

    Dear crinrict

I deleted the files mentioned, reopened the game, closed it, and no new files were created. After this, my last attempt was to completely wipe out the Sims 4 on my computer. I deleted all files, and once again removed it. After redownloading it, (and not starting it while the add-ons were queueing) the problem still occured. I already knew it wasn't going to work, once i opened the app and the Logo didn't appear in the intro. I'm hopeless. Please let me know if you have any idea how to fix this issue.
