Missing chickens and event

Hello, yesterday I logged on to play the natures calling even but it never triggered! I restarted the game several times and restarted my Xbox, but it's still not triggering. It even says on my Xbox that there's an event going on and when I click to play the game it just never happens. How can I get it to start? 

Also, I noticed early in my game one of my chickens disappeared and figured it just wondered off. Well I got on today and one if my chickens plus all I'd my chick's have vanished! I wouldn't care so much but one of my chickens keeps laying golden eggs and I don't know which one and I'd rather not have to buy yet another chicken and start all over with that one. Is there any way I can stop my chickens from disappearing?
