Multitasking... a little too much?

I considered mentioning this as a bug, but I think it's more just feedback on some of the odder results of the current handling of multi-tasking.

I think, sometimes, some further checks should be put in place:

  1. Does it actually make sense?
  2. If it's a multi-step process, do all the steps support multi-tasking?

For example, yes, you can walk while holding a book, but you can't cook with it. So why will Sims told to cook carry the book over to the kitchen, stare at the fridge or counter for a moment pondering the sudden unforseen obstacle of having their hands full, then walk back out of the kitchen to go back to the bookshelf they were originally reading near to put the book away then go back and cook?

Or eating. Eating is a whole issue. I love that you can multi-task while eating - watch tv, talk to other Sims, etc - but sometimes, you should really finish eating before moving on to the next thing.

Some examples:

Eating cake and jogging

Eating breakfast and playing in the water

...and of course, all the times they can't actually do their next task with plate in hand. So they walk over to the baby they want to pick up, or the kitchen where they want to cook, or to the kid they want to hug, or the litter box they want to clean, or out the door preparing to go to work. Then they freeze, hopefully only for a moment. Possibly longer if they decide to finish eating while standing there. Then they walk back where they came from to put the plate down.
