I've got this too... for starters eating/holding a plate of food while dancing with the dog. Every meal time. At least one Sim stops eating and holds the dog's paws and does a little dance with them while happily saying "kaloooo". One hand holds a plate and a paw at the same time. Then they stay stood up and carry on eating. Because, well it's got a few paw prints in it but I'm sure it's fine.
Then we have the "hello person I live with for some inexplicable reason I have to hug you everytime you've been somewhere even if I have to get up from the dinner table with a plateful of food in my hand and fling my arms around you before I can speak to you because that's perfectly normal behaviour that would definitely happen in real life and would definitely not result in covering you in aubergine parmesan". 🙄
It's difficult enough to get them to sit down to eat without them getting up and taking their plate of food off to do something daft.
