That happened to me the other day. I saw that the house base was slightly too high, so she couldn't get in, as it involved basically climbing with no step.
Is your house flat with the ground?
To lower a house, click on any room to select it, then use the up/down arrow in the center to adjust the foundation height. Dragging the arrow down will lower the house, and dragging it up will raise it. You can also lower a specific room by selecting it, using the up/down arrow to adjust its height, and then lowering the floor of that room.
Make sure there are no obstructions. Once my sim couldn't get inside her house because of a decoration I had hanging above the door. weird.
Also, if you really need to get inside now, hold down the shift key on your keyboard, then with your mouse, click somewhere inside your house. Choose teleport
