My Sims don't pick up their infants

It's a current issue I'm having and it doesn't matter if I have any mods on 'cause it happens anyway.😭 Everytime I try to pick up an infant or any other action about them, the sim is unable to do so: the action is renamed in "cradle the infant" no matter what it is and after about 30 sec the sim says they can't reach the infant (even if baby is on the ground literally in front of them). I even tried to hire a nanny hoping that she would be able to care for the child, but she ignores them complitely.💀 On the matter, I noticed that the same issue I have with the toddlers when it come to change their diaper.

I tried everything I could think of: disabling the mods and deleting the most recent ones, repairing the game and serching for the cause of the error (btw I tried with an ai and it said that the lastexemption that comes up is realted to an error about put_down_sim_interactions.py and _adjust_location fuction). It doesn't help that it started malfunctioning mid game, it all working without any problem and then it was not.

So, any idea how I could resolve it?😫
