My Sims just wont function properly

My Sims are just broken. This started a few days ago, I aged up a sim from teen to young adult and did the same with their girlfriend, however afterwards, the girlfriend didn't receive her third trait and the couple couldn't do anything romantic together without it just cutting off or not preforming the animation at all. I tried to move her house, reset her, I went into the full edit cas too, but nothing worked and so I tried to get them to break up, but that wouldn't work either, they still had full love and friendship meter, only now, when I would try to make them hang out, the girlfriend wouldn't appear anywhere. I ended up deleting her entirely from the world. 

The next time I tried to set up a sim with someone, it failed as well as they wouldn't even gain any love meter at all. There would be heart icons but only their friendship meter would go up, I even tried to use cheats to make their relationship happen but that didn't work at all either. I'm so at a loss for what to do rn since I feel like I've tried everything and the game is just refusing to work properly.
