Nature's Calling Event not working

i am also dealing with this. i can see the natures calling menu that lists out the event missions but the ui is really weird looking and doesnt show me what tasks i need to complete.

could you please post a picture of what you are seeing ?

Try the following

- Close the game
- Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
- Repair the game
- Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. 
- Start a new save game
- Check if you still have the error
- Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

That worked after renaming the folder! I made sure mods were taken out before renaming--what else could be the cause? This is what I typically see--the screen is grayed out and I can't exit out of the popup by clicking on the x, only pressing esc. 

...and then Grim's trying to sneak in instead of the nature's calling event, but when I click In that area, it'll do the same thing as the main menu with the grayed screen.

Started doing the event today and no problem opening the UI or seeing what to do. Claimed the woodworking bench no problem but after that I did everything released thus far. Went to claim the rewards but I hadn't gained any points from the things I did? And now they don't show any more but I also can't claim the rewards? Any tips on what to do so I could get the rewards? I play on PC and have had mods at some point but removed them many months ago at this point and have played with no mods or cc. 

Everytime I try and open the sims there is an overcasting darker screen with an X on the main menu, this is where the event display is supposed to be but its just not and the X doesn't actually do anything I have to hit the escape button on my keyboard  twice to get out of it. The same overcasting darker screen appears when I try clicking on the event tab. And I really want to play this event, also wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.
