New infant update rant
Hi all! I thought I'd share my thoughts on the patch and it's gonna be a fairly emotional rant, so if you don't like this, just move along please! 🙂 First things first, I've been playing with these...
@PipMenaceOh, you're right. Adult is 42 days now, I mixed it up. But still let's see a sim has a kid as early as day 1 of young adulthood + 3 days of pregnancy. The kid will be there when a parent has 24-25 days left in young adulthood. The kid grows into ya in 48 days and by that time the parent will be an elder already with 10-11 days left till death. Better than nothing of course but still barely enough to give the kids time to, you know, go to college, get a job, build a life for them and then start their own family. If we skip all that altogether then yeah, an elder will be able to see their first grandchild before death but like I said, it's family straight away.
Edit: turning aging off for college is actually a great idea, even though it's still a workaround. Gotta see if that makes sense in my game, cause I play rotationally (like in ts2)
@pingvinskin So if you have your Sim get pregnant on the first day of young adulthood - which lasts 28 days - they will be pregnant for 3 days and still have 24 days left of young adulthood.
That kid will reach young adulthood in 48 days. 24 of those will be in the parent’s young adulthood and the other 24 during the first part of the parent’s 42 day adulthood. When they become a young adult, the parent will then have 18 days left as an adult, followed by around 15 as an elder.
College taking most of your young adulthood is still annoying though.
Edit: oops, 49 days to grow up. So parent has 17 days left as an adult before becoming an elder.
