I am so very sorry to hear you are experiencing this misery in your game. I would suggest you log your problem in the Bug category. I have been playing Sims since 2005. It's been my experience that sometimes things get fixed, only to rebreak something that was previously fixed. It's a little like knitting a row and finding yourself at the end of said row, only to realize you inadvertently dropped a stich along the way. Which means you have to undo several stiches to fix the dropped one.
I do hope my analogy makes sense to you. EA won't necessarily know we've got a few problems, if we do sing out about them. Best of luck.
