Hi Crin, No I'm not using any Mods. I had so many issues with Sims 3 that I decided not to use them with Sims 4. Is there any way of fixing a corrupted save? Any help would be appreciated 🙂

I know a few people who have this problem and all these people have really huge save-files because they are playing with several families.
I am having the same problem because I am playing with all the family.
So far I lost three plots, I cannot access them at all.
I can move another family to this plot (though not enter the plot afterwards)...but when I do the usual questions you are asked - with furniture/without furniture/demolish are missing....

Would you be willing to share your save game ?
If so, please zip up this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves and drop the file to this Mediafire-Link to upload. Please make sure to name the zip file with your user name and a tag-word of the issue.

I have a lot of families too but I only play 6 families now and the rest I have as unplayed. It's actually a LOT error because I've spent all morning figuring out what the problem is. It's the Oakenstead lot and the building that I currently have on it is obviously the issue. I tried to download a building I saw in Sims VIP on Twitter and that's when the issues started. I don't think I will be able to get myself out of this one because it's probably a corrupt save ☹️

Hey Crin 🙂
I just sent you the zipped file. I forgot to put my details on the first upload, so sorry about that. As I said to Tahemet before it's definitely the "Oakenstead" lot that's the issue. I tried to download a new building on that lot the other night and I was stuck on the building screen for over 20 minutes. I knew there was a problem at that point and thankfully the issue only seems to be with that lot now.
I have tried everything and nothing has seemed to work for me so hopefully you have more success. Thank you so much for doing this I really appreciate it! My fingers and toes are crossed for you. haha 🙂 - crinrict9 years agoHero+
I try if I get to find some solution.
Maybe you'll need to revert to a backup from before you downloaded the lot.
I'll let you know what I find.

Hi @lisam467
Did some testing and I don't think there's anything that can be done to save Oakenstead. You can just still play your game, but the lot is corrupted. I loaded the lot next to it and funny enough, it still showed the old house.
Questions
- Could you give me the link to that lot to download (name and creator) so I can see if it's the house leads to a reproducible error ?
- Did you bulldoze the lot before you placed the new house ?
Options
- Load a save from before you placed the house
- Play on but don't ever load Oakenstead in any form. Seems it's one of those contagious issues. Once a corrupted lot is loaded, all others are corrupted too unless you restart the game.
I can only hope it doesn't spreads
I forwarded your save to QA so they can hopefully find a way to prevent this issue from occurring in the future but my guess is that it's connected to the disappearing house issue.

Which are your affected lots ?

Hey Crin,
I noticed the same thing when I went to look at the property next to it. It never used to show the original house on that lot so I don't know what's happened? When I went to download the new house onto the lot I just went straight into my library clicked on the new house that I wanted to download and went straight over the top of my existing property. I've done this in the past and it's always worked for me but this time it got stuck in a loop on the building screen for 20+ minutes. I had no way of exiting the game when that happened so I did a ctrl-alt-delete and cancelled out of the game and then went back in and tried to edit the lot from Manage worlds and that's when I got the Error Code: 800. I should point out that I hadn't saved the game at this stage but after endless tries of cancelling out of the game and trying different things I gave up and went to play one of my other Sim families and that's when I did a save. The error happened way before any save was done so I'm wondering if the error had been there for quite some time and I just hadn't noticed because I very rarely play Willow Creek anymore.
What I think I might have to do now is make a copy of my buildings and families and start a new game. It's obviously a corrupted save so it could spread like you said and I don't want to lose access to any of the other lots. Better to be safe than sorry.
This is the link to the property I was trying to download. I saw it in Sims VIP on Twitter and loved it. https://www.thesims.com/en_GB/gallery/B03066DB676811E78532291F6B257650
Unfortunately I don't have any earlier saves of my game so I won't have any choice but to start a new one. It's my own silly fault for not backing up. I always used to save 2 games when it came to Sims 3 because of all the issues but this is the first time I have ran into anything serious with Sims 4. Lesson learned!
Thank you so much for taking a look at it for me Crin I really appreciate it! Thanks also for passing the information on to QA. I guess I am just going to have to cop this one on the chin and backup in future. It would have been nice to have a happy ending but these things happen unfortunately. I hope you have a great day and thanks again for all of your help! 😃 - crinrict9 years agoHero+
I'm going to try that lot but it's hard to tell if it didn't place cause the lot was corrupted or if the not being able to place corrupted the lot.
- crinrict9 years agoHero+
I downloaded that lot and had no issues but it looks completely different from the one that shows in your save on the map too. Did you replace it with the house showing on the map before ?
- lisam4679 years agoNew Traveler
Hey Crin, No the red and white house is mine, and that was the one I was trying to replace with the one I sent you in the link. I think the lot is dodgy because like we were talking about in previous posts it's still showing the old Oakenstead house when you go into the property next to it.
I had a busy night. I spent 4 hours saving all of my families and buildings to my library and I just started a new game before and the first family I used is missing most of their relationships. I can't link the Mother and Daughter because it only gives me the option of room mate and brother. WTH!? They also have no money, and they're not in any clubs anymore. The game is really starting to annoy me. I mean how hard is it to give a full list of relationship statuses in CAS?
I'm thankful I kept a back up of my old saves. Starting a new game just doesn't seem like a good idea. I might just have to put up with never being able to build on Oakenstead again, and hope the issues don't get any worse. - crinrict9 years agoHero+
I've seen others having issues with relationship. Might depend on the age of the Sims. Are they still children ?
Money you can cheat back but the relationships are a bit annoying, I agree but that was always the case when you moved to a new save.
I think I would just play on and avoid the Oakenstead lot as well.
I think it was corrupted when you tried to place that house that's why it wasn't placing properly.
I would also try make it a habit to bulldoze first, then place a new house.

No a lot of my Sims are grown ups now but it's still something they should have sorted out a long time ago. Every time I see the latest patch I get annoyed because they fix the small things that are insignificant and the big issues continued to be ignored. I'm not going to bother starting a new game for one lot like you said. It's just a shame that it had to happen on a 50x50 lot because there's not that many of them. I wish there was a way to just delete properties from the Manage Worlds screen, but that would be too easy right? 😉 Maybe we should be working for EA because they seem to lack common sense sometimes. I still haven't been able to delete a plate on the footpath that's been there for over a year but I can wear the plate as my head! lol. Who thinks this stuff up!? The time they wasted on that concept would have been better spent on giving us a delete option for the plate, or even better a delete button for lots in Manage Worlds.
Anyway I'm ranting now so I'll stop. haha.
I just want to thank you again for all of your help Crin. You're the best! 😬 We didn't get the desired result but who knows maybe a miracle will happen and it will fix itself in time. Stranger things have happened.
Take Care.
Lisa 😬 - crinrict9 years agoHero+
Yeah, I wish I had a solution for this but I don't. I hope they can fix it in a future patch.
I do have to say I'm quite happy with the latest patch as it fixed many issues that many had but there's still a lot of work to be done for sure.
- lisam4679 years agoNew Traveler
I hope so too otherwise I'm going to have a busted game. haha. Good to hear that you're happy with the latest patch and you're right they have a long way to go and if it's anything like Sims 3 a lot of the bugs won't get fixed. I think I will be a very happy Simmer when Seasons comes out 🙂

Hi @lisam467
We are still investigating your save. Could we also ask for a DxDiag of your computer?
Thank you for all the information you have provided so far.

I'm having the same problem as you but with the "Aconite Mansion" lot in Forgotten Hollow.
This is a new game with no CC or mods.
Every time I starts a new game first I edit all neighborhoods with new lots and families. But this is especifically lot corrupted somehow later after playing for a bit.
WH (What Happens): When I enter in the lot for the first time the messase "Error code 800..." appear and the game automatically go to the menu screen of neighborhoods. On the second time the message doesn't appear but the game stays in a endless loading screen.
THINGS I TRIED:
1 - I tried to move a new family to there and had no sucess. WH
2 - I moved Vatore family out of there but the error persists too. WH
3 - Editing lot didn't work. WH
4 - I tried to put another lot from outside but didn't worked. WH
Here is my save game for tests: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtmbQyEtx3iijr8xFXijwdF1y_njLw
