Re: Roadmap, baybee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@gooochyeee , I would also tend to believe that except for the fact that at the Twitch event a few months ago (the one where they showed off the crawling baby, and the child riding a bike, they also showed us a set of dentures in a glass of water!  That is definitely Elder territory! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Edit: apparently my guess (as well as that of several other people) was wrong, because the dentures in the glass of water is part of the Bathroom Clutter Kit that was released today (January 19)!!! ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜…

@daikoyu I don't want to necessarily put elders in a box, but there isn't that much of unique elder things to do in the game.  If you have the Nifty Knitting SP then they can sit in the rocker and reminisce (though to be honest, I even did that as a teenager! ๐Ÿ˜… )  But while elders in the game can do many of the things that teens and adults do, they have a big problem with exercising !   ๐Ÿ˜ฐ  Mine always get buffs that are warnings that the exercise is to strenuous (even if I have them do it just for a short time), and I've even have had elders die from exercising in my game!๐Ÿ˜ž  Which makes sense for some elders, but not others!  My parents are elders and my dad is more like the elders in the game and is in fact fragile -- however my mother is very active and is more like an adult aged Sim in the game,!  So the activity level of real elders can vary greatly!  But usually different life-stages in the game bring unique gameplay, as they have in The Sims 2 and the Sims 3 (there weren't functionally any elders in the Sims 1, just Sims that looked like elders).

But I do agree that toddlers and children need more things to do in the game, especially children!

@PugLove888 Then again it could just be a decoration item. But Infant-Child (including toddlers) Gameplay is seriously needed. Especially children. Child Bikes as seen in the sim summit and possibly even trikes for infants/toddlers . I'd also like to see a floor drawing. Xylophone (sorry if incorrectly spelt). Rocking horses, tree houses. Slides for children. And more

I'd be happy to see more interactive toys for kids. Despite owning all the additional packs for kids I still feel like they all end up with the same limited selection. The base game toys were really odd and annoying, I mean what is the point of that little pram? I often blow it up and place it in a nursery and do the same with the little red car so it's like they have one to peddle about in... even though they can't. The model toy cars get blown up and placed on drives in the absence of real cars.

As for the outdoor toddler activity things, you need a mansion to fit them in as they take up half the lawn. I have one Sim family that has the space for the biggest one with tunnels. I added them to a park and toddlers turned up unaccompanied it really freaked me out and my played Sim rounded them up one by one and took them home! So that idea was immediately scrapped.

So I'm happy to see it looks like we might be getting something more realistic in terms of activities and/or items possibly.

I added kids shops selling the collectable toys and knitted llamas, turtles, etc. There's kids art, collectable posters, snowglobes and the cracker toys too, just so that kids could have a few more things in their rooms.

There's wierd looking dolls that appear in their inventories when they get home from school which seems to be linked to the kleptomaniac trait. I think that could be expanded upon because it's extremely rare. One little girl named Thalia got a few of them in my last game but nobody else got any. I couldn't interact with them so they just sat in her room. But I like that idea of locked or hidden toys that just appear in the inventory depending on the traits/activities.

I don't have many elders as there seems to be a fair few elder townies already. But mine are often parents and grandparents that I add as peripheral characters/family that I keep in Other Households. They are usually pretty active though. I don't have deaths in my game and I wanted them to be youthful seniors.

@gooochyeee , you were so right about the dentures in the glass of water being a decoration , because the Bathroom Clutter Kit was released today and the dentures showed up in that kit! ๐Ÿ˜…
I love your ideas for more things for kids and toddlers to do! ๐Ÿฅณ  And yes, you did spell xylophone correctly! ๐Ÿ˜„

@simsplayer818 , when you talk about kids' toys and you mention the pram (stroller for people in the U.S.) , do you mean the fancy purple one?  If that is the same one you mean, that isn't supposed to be a pram, but instead it is supposed to be an old-fashioned carriage, but it does look out of context without horses in front of it! ๐Ÿ˜…  I never thought of it as a pram, but I can now clearly see how you (and I'm sure other people) have thought that! ๐Ÿ˜€

Interesting thing about the Kleptomaniac trait in children, is that that is how I learned of the hidden items in the game (the ones that aren't locked by achievements)!  A lot of the dolls that end up in their inventory were swiped from dollhouses! ๐Ÿ˜…
Normally I don't like the idea of children stealing things, but in the case of this trait, it does give some much needed personality to some of my child Sims! ๐Ÿคจ

@PugLove888 Is that what it is lol. I blow it up into a frilly pram! That's made me chuckle.๐Ÿคญ
Thanks for explaining about the dolls, the first one that I found in the inventory was a particularly creepy looking one, I was like, eek! But I really don't like frilly dolls personally I was more for the Sindy/Barbie kind of doll. I just think these stolen dolls add more variety when toys are a bit lacking in the game so I started looking forward to checking her inventory when she got home from school.

@simsplayer818 , yes, well, I have seen carriages like this (though not in purple!). ๐Ÿ˜‰  But your idea of blowing it up in size to become a toy pram is a great idea! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I don't know which doll is the creepy looking one, unless you mean the doll from the Paranormal pack. ๐Ÿค”  But that one is supposed to be creepy! ๐Ÿ˜… I was always a big fan of frilly dolls and dolls you can cuddle, and never cared for Barbie much at all! So we are opposites in that regard! ๐Ÿ˜„

Other interesting things that my Klepto children have swiped in the game are dirty plates!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ I mean, why would anybody want that!?!?!?!? ๐Ÿ˜ฃ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฃ

@PugLove888... erm, I do know a family of professional carriage racers. So not recognising the carriage was even more of a faux pas. They will never know lol. Although in fairness theirs do not have frills. See, I blame the frills!
But that does mean we need strollers and prams and things in different forms added to the game (see my stupidity led to an important issue and that's what I'm telling myself). So I look forward to them adding things like this. I don't necessarily think it should be paid content because I think it should have been there already. Just like more variety in cribs. I didn't get a nice crib until I added Realm of Magic.

I also got loads of dirty plates brought home from school, ick.

@gooochyeee , good logic! I was just focusing on all the other hints that point to a Generations pack, so I figured that the dentures would be part of that pack.  Had they not mentioned things like "It's all relative" and had they not had the drawings that looked like family trees, I probably would have then figured out that the dentures were part of an upcoming kit.  However, if we do actually get a generations-type pack, there could still be dentures for the elders, with this just being an extra decorative item that would fit in with that Expansion Pack. But then again, it might just be an isolated item! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Also, yes, children can have the Kleptomaniac trait.  I give some of my Sims kids this trait just because there aren't many traits to choose from , and I prefer it to the Evil trait.  I also like the randomness that comes with the trait. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@simsplayer818 LOL!  Yes, the frills, not to mention the purple color, would make the in-game carriage toy quite different from the modern carriages that your friends probably race! ๐Ÿ˜…

I think we will get real strollers and prams in the game for the improved babies , however, that doesn't mean we will get any pram/stroller toys for kids to pretend with.  But I think that is a lovely idea! ๐Ÿฅฐ
The real prams would have to come with the free update, and there will probably be more styles of prams in kit for those who play lots of families in their games and would want some variety!  Kind of like what they did with the Toddler SP that came out after the free toddler update. Those who weren't that interested in toddlers would be content with the free base game additions, and those who play a lot of families would want the Toddlers SP! ๐Ÿ‘ถ

@PugLove888The main reason I suspected it wasnt gonna include elders is all the drawings felt kinda childish and which makes me think of children + On the sims Latin America Twitter it says "La Familia Lo Es Todo" which directly translates to "Family is everything" meaning likely the younger sims, not teens as that was done by High School Years. Not babies as they were doing infants. So I assume Infant, Toddler, Child Gameplay pack. And since BIG updates happened before expansions Infants are gonna be in the pre-expansion update. And since almost ever basegame update gets expanded on in a expansion when the update comes before a expansion e.g Body Hair was free but expanded in HSYs, Wants and Fears got updated in the expansion etc. So then they would expand on infants in the expansion for sure. But then they were also a child on the roadmap so maybe Infant + Children. Whats inbetween infants and children, toddlers and since toddlers can use some of the same stuff as kids, it would only be logical the same happens in the expansion. Hence why I think Infants-Children will get updated in the expansion. (plus some of the same team members on werewolves are working on the next expasion as it seems and werewolves was done well so i think the next expansion was a work in progress for a long time. And the team put alot of effort into it and I look forward to it.

@gooochyeee , you make good points! I would have taken the phrase "Family is Everything" to include all members of the family, not just the very young. True, Sims 4 is more often than not prone to giving us more detailed experiences (think individual Vampire, Spellcaster, Werewolf packs as opposed to the Sims 3 Supernatural pack that has every type included, but not nearly as detailed in gameplay!) So, in that case, your thoughts are more likely to the case for upcoming content.  However, that still leaves Elders lacking in unique  gameplay and Build/Buy/CAS items.

Only time will tell, and tomorrow there is supposed to be the Behind the Sims stream (9 am PST) , so we should know more at this time tomorrow! ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿฅณ
