Secret Spice Mastery Perk makes a dish unedible

So, one of my sims achieved ‘secret spice’ mastery trait which makes any excellent quality dish impeccable quality.  However, when my sim adds to any dish, other sims including the sim who added spice is unable to eat that dish. They bug out whenever a sim tries to grab a serving.
