Sim in Library has corruption

Image 1, showing the family of five in the Library. Each Sim is featured in the family photo, including the Sim who can't be loaded on the sidebar (the Sim with the green jacket).

Image 2, stating that an item associated with this Sim, or an instance item of this Sim is corrupted and asking if I would like to remove it ('Item is corrupted, would you like to remove it?').

Is this something I ought to be concerned about and take action on, such as removing this family from the Library? Is it possible to restore this Sim? If I select 'remove', will the family or the individual Sim be deleted, or will an associated item, such as a corrupted piece of clothing, be removed and the rest of the household left intact? What could have caused this in the first place? Note that I have not played with this family, just made them and then saved them to the library.

@crinrict Sounds like it might be. Do you know if clicking yes on the remove prompt just removes the affected item/s from the Sim, or if it deletes the Sim and/or the whole household?

@SimmerStar4 The household cause if you're missing files as the other user, there's no way to recover it unless you have a backup somewhere.

@crinrict Ah, that's unfortunate. I think I do have some backups somewhere, thankfully. Is there any way to prevent this from happening again? While I do do backups frequently, if it can be prevented in the first place, it would be good to know.

@SimmerStar4 Adding to note: the game seemed to be struggling with the 'yes' on the remove prompt, so I had to manually delete the save using the regular delete button in the gallery. I'm guessing it has the same effect either way, but just in case.

@SimmerStar4 The save and the library items aren't the same. The library items are in your tray folder. I don't know why certain files are no longer there.

Did you mess around with the tray folder ?

Troubleshooting is basically the same as I posted in the other thread.

@crinrictMy apologies, I meant the household in the Library - I said 'save' because when I deleted it manually, I was asked to confirm if I wanted to delete it from from 'saves'. I've never actually played with this household. Edit: (I decided to delete it to be safe, but I do have a backup I made of my files before deleting the household, so I can restore the files with the corrupted item from backup).

@crinrict And no, I've never done anything in the tray folder before, including deleting anything in it.
  • This happened to me just now. All I was trying to do was to look at a new build someone was showing off on the menu screen. Then it said Connection is required, so I connected, and then it said, item is corrupted. Should you like to remove it. Clicked no, looked at my page, all said corrupted. I shouldn't have bought the horses pack. In fact, this may be worse than the false Items Removed glitch which that have solved. I think I'll make a video on YouTube showing evidence.
