[PS] Can't go up or down floors

I’m having this same issue on my Ps5 as well. I’ve tried everything that was suggested here. I’ve even undownloaded the game completely and redownloaded everything and i still have the same problem. And i want to play the game but I’m still only able to build one level houses.

I’ve tried all of these things, and still cant move up a level from the ground level. So what can be done for my ps5 console

I’m having the same problem too i reported this two days ago I can’t go up or down the controls are unresponsive 

Hello, I was having the same issue last week.  I spent a lot of time working on the problem.  I am a builder and have been working on this house for years.  And this problem is new. Anyway, I saved all of my rooms in the house in case I needed to do a demolition.  The thing that fixed the problem was adding additional walls in my 2nd floor.  It used to be a long corridor.  Now there are segments of corridor with archways.  It actually looks good like this.  I was routing sims from different spots of the wide open 2nd floor (after removing rooms), and they were walking the perimeter and avoiding walking in the middle of the big area. They would also use the balcony to navigate from one room to another, rather than walking in the middle of the 2nd floor space.  There is definitely a problem. 

I was unable to go up or down stairs recently in a house that I've been working on for years.  I've never had this problem before, aside from 'move objects' issues.  I took the house apart to figure out how to fix the problem.  For me, I had to add an additional wall to the corridor.  After that, the problem was solved.  Sims were now able to route to the stairs and walk inside the house.  

This issue started on January 27th, 2026.

I recently the other day turned on my PS5 console, to play after not playing for a few months. I updated everything. Bought a few more packs i was interested in. Went to play, started building a house and realized i cant go up to the second floor, i can go down to the basement level but cant go back up after. 😒I cant even look at the roof I’ve put on a one level house. When i click on the roofs i can place it but once i go back to the first level then try to go back up it wont let me. This has been going on for a week. I’ve tried turning it off and on. Restarting the game. I even undownloaded and downloaded everything back and its still the same. So i need EA or Sims 4 to tell me what’s going on because it’s been a week and I’m frustrated. And before you ask, the up arrow button works just fine on other games. It’s just on this game that it doesn’t work. 😠

Yes! And I've seen a few post and i tried commenting on one and my comment got liked then deleted and they closed the conversation. And  didn't get a good answer on how to fix it. 😠

sorry I don’t mean to sound rude but. So my post has been ‘reviewed’ …as in they’ve came up with a solution?.. Because my up button still doesn’t work so…..
